Marco Penati
Born in Milan in the 1950s, Marco Penati received his first diploma in Industrial Technology. In the 1970s and 80s, he took part in the technical management of the famous furniture design brand Zanotta. Again during this period, he had the opportunity to meet and work with important designers such as Castiglioni, Zanuso, Colombo, Mendini, Branzi, Munari and Mari.
In 1992, he established an engineering studio working with furniture companies such as Arflex, Cappelini, Interflex, together with Architect Marina Bani. In 1997, he assumed the presidency of SIGLA, the Design and Communication consultancy company he founded with architects Patrizia Scarzella and Marina Bani. In addition to his role at SIGLA, where he currently designs projects for many companies, Marco Penati works as an instructor at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan and writes satirical books on the design community.
